Wilson's Paper Gummed Letters Figures Numbers in Combination Wooden Box

Vintage circa 1940s Wilson's Paper Gummed Letters and Figures in the original wooden Combination Box.  The Tablet & Ticket Company of Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. 

Information from the pink label inside the lid:  This Box Contains an Assortment of Letters and Figures as Shown Below.  Letters are gummed and were to be used for making your own signs, show cards, price tickets, charts, and tabulated statements.  Can be used directly on wood, cardboard, etc.

Box measures 13 inches wide x 7 1/8 long x 2 1/2 tall.  Dovetailed corners with metal clasp and metal hinges.  Fantastic original red and gold paper label on the top of the box.

Interior is divided into 6 sections by wooden dividers.  These sections are further divided into compartments by card stock weight, paper tabs.  Paper tabs are labeled as "A, B, C, $" etc.

Inside box label says three sizes of letters and figures were included: 22 (3/4 inch tall), 23 (1 inch tall) and 25 (1 1/2 inches tall).

Characters include:

  • Letters A-Z
  • Numbers 00 and 0-9
  • Special figures of $, ¢, &, ., ',

Most of the sections have at least one letter or figure, some have multiples, and a few of the more common letters have none at all.  All letters are gummed paper and in black. 

Condition for the letters and figures is very good with some having curled from years of storage. 

The box is in very good with some small scratches and wear to the outer paper label.
